Water cascades down from the Highlands and feeds into Serenity River in a mesmerizing rush of sound and beauty. The base of the falls is surrounded by moss covered stone and a light mist.

“You guys ok back there?” Soli called out mischievously, but with a noticeable pant, “I’m supposed to be the old and slow one, you know!”

Their journey had been rough thus far, at least for him. The black wolf’s traveling days were long over, and the distance they had covered was certainly a sizable one. For those he was traveling with though, he was certain it had been quite the adventure for them. The many miles they had spent journeying to their new home had been a beautiful trek, the allure of new sights and locations providing a respite to the monotony of constantly walking. Soli was still getting to know his new packmates, though was nonetheless excited to lead them to a new home; by his estimates, however, their journey was about to come to an end.

Trotting up the hill, the scenery opened up to reveal Serenity River. A beautiful series of waterfalls fed into the river. Mist rose from the crashing waterfalls. The air was filled with a tumultuous, constant sound of tumbling water. Below, the river was abundant with greenery- the rocks were covered with moss, rich ferns and dense bushes lined the riverside. The trees swayed in the breeze, the shadows and light dancing on the water’s rushing surface. Soli let out a breath, his exhaustion fading away at the beautiful sight. They had finally reached their destination, the den being only a little ways up the river. The black wolf sat down to rest his old bones, waiting to share the view with his traveling companions.

The large wolf was quite a ways behind as he found himself distracted by all the new plants he had never seen before. It had been his 4th year in the wild, and 1st year among pack mates, and he was determined to make sure they had everything they needed to keep it that way! Each and every new plant was a potential herb he could use to cure any injury, being on his own he often found himself hurt from hunting and had familiarized himself with various plants and their effects on wounds and sicknesses of all kinds. "Coming Soli!" He called as he pulled his nose away from a small bud on the ground and began to run uphill towards where he saw his new leader.

As he reached the top he came to a halt, blinking a bit as he saw the waterfalls and river below. He closed his eyes and inhaled, taking in the scent of the river he had searched for, and exhaled as he felt the mist of the waterfall land on his russet fur as a gust of wind blew through it. After a few moments he opened his eyes and looked behind him before making his way over to Soli and sitting beside him, his curled tail resting beside him and curling over his paws as he waited for the rest of the pack to join them in greeting their new home.

“Yeah yeah whatever old man, I’m coming.” Rainer huffed as she followed behind. She had just met these wolves, so they’d need to forgive her lack of enthusiasm of keeping up with them. Who’d they think they were anyway? An old wolf and one seemingly so gentle the wind would knock him over. Huh. How special. But they were the best option she had right now. More wolves meant more hunting success and food. Best used. Yup. The huge black and silver wolf followed behind, them still her tail held up high. As she walked her footsteps made audible noise, crunching on the foliage below. The wind was nice. Refreshing. The scents of the land hit her nose, scents familiar and unfamiliar in foliage. It was new, and it could be exciting. But she learned to never get her hopes up, life was unpredictable. So we’re these two, as far as she knew. She reached the top and looked over the land. The rivers and waterfalls, the right green foliage….the mist that seemed to pass through both her and the other wolves fur….

It’s better than nothing, but nothing impressive to her. It was livable land, so what? She wasn’t going to bask and stare in awe at it for more than a minute, that was just wasted time. Rainer rested her tail as she looked down at the land, her amber eyes almost scrutinizing how everything looked, like a harsh critic. She then looked to the other two, both sitting and resting. Her face bore an expression of being unimpressed, which they’d know seemed to be the default for her.
“So this is it right? Now what? Are we just gonna gawk at it or actually do something?” She asked, her amber eyes looking directly at Soli, she didn’t really even seem to glance at Akka at all. She almost didn’t want to wait to hear an answer.

Soli’s ears flicked as his traveling companions answered his call; Akka’s reply was distant, though not too far. Soli assumed something had captured the younger wolf’s curiosity, hence their delay. The old black wolf let out a lighthearted, audible laugh upon hearing Rainer’s snarky reply- it cheered him up a bit and brought a grin to his face.

The two had settled in next to him atop the hill, surveying the scene sprawled out before them. Soli watched as Akka took a moment to enjoy the new area, the tawny wolf closing their eyes and breathing in the fresh air. Looking over to Rainer, Soli felt disheartened to see they were more analytical of their surroundings. The dark wolf was more focused on survival than enjoying the moment. But surviving isn’t living, Soli thought with slight melancholy. While he had only known Rainer for a short time, he hoped that the young wolf would find a cheerier outlook somewhere in the future. The old black wolf quickly snapped out of his thoughts as Rainer made eye contact with him. Sol quickly put on a friendly smile, hoping that they didn’t notice his concerned expression.

“So this is it right? Now what? Are we just gonna gawk at it or actually do something?”

“Now, see, I am doing something- I'm catching my breath!” Soli said with a sly grin, turning his gaze towards the flowing water, “However, I wouldn't mind a fish or three from that river.” Getting up with a stiff, slow stretch, he made his way down to the calmly flowing water. It tugged at his paws, but thankfully didn’t pose a threat to the old wolf’s less than stellar balance. With his ears standing straight up and eyes focused, he stared down towards the water in search of his prey. A few fish flashed before him, and Soli snapped into the water, turning up with nothing each time. After a couple of tries, the old wolf finally managed to catch one. Sitting up, he called over to the two, his voice muffled through his clenched teeth, “I caught one!” He turned his head to reveal his catch- a tiny fish no bigger than his canine tooth was frantically wiggling, its tailfin poking out the side of Soli’s broad smile.

Akka sprang to his feet as he heard his grumpy companion catch up to them, tucking his tail under his belly in embarrassment, he was no longer a pup, he was a full grown wolf in a pack, it was time to do something! His mint gaze followed Soli as the old wolf caught his first prey in their new territory, his tail wagging just as quickly as the tiny fish was wriggling about in Soli's jaws. "Great catch!" He complimented as he padded over to the water, tilting his head as he focused on the gentle current, stepping in cautiously. The water felt nice on his pads, hardened and sore from the traveling, the tiny fish tickling his toes as they swam by. He moved in a bit deeper, perking his ears as he spotted a small school swimming by, here was his chance! He quickly started snapping his jaws into the water, repeating the action until his fang finally snagged something, a big one it felt like. He yanked his head up and then whipped around facing his pack mates, wagging his tail and displaying his catch proudly before looking down and realizing he had caught nothing more than a twig. His tail dropped as did the stick from his jaws, he faced the water once more hoping his companions were too occupied with their own hunting to notice his mistake, his tail tucked between his legs once more.

Re: Cascade Falls

Rainer allowed the two to head towards the water first. As it had always seemed, it looked as if she was judging. Scrutinizing them.
She watched the older wolf go first. He hardly went deep enough into the water to catch anything of note than a small minnow. ’How….pathetic’ she thought to herself. But that wasn’t the most pathetic thing out of them all as her attention was grabbed by….the timid one. Arca? She didn’t really remember his name, nor did she bother to. Every time he did anything over the journey it seemed to be absentmindedly sniffing herbs or just not being fully attentive. It was no wonder to her that he probably needed this old wolf; he was the only reason he probably didn’t die with him around, due to him not seeming to pay attention to their surroundings as much. It was a wonder to her how he survived into adulthood at all; every other minute he’d seem to tuck his tail. Her impressions of him were not high. She watched him wade into the water. He went a little deeper than the old wolf. He saw movement, and went to grab something. Then he pulled out…a twig. She saw him shy away. His reputation couldn’t sink any lower, because of course he wouldn’t be able to catch a fish.

Then she started to laugh. Laugh at both of them. Her voice was loud, it had presence.
“You call that fishing? How embarrassing. Let a professional show you how it’s done.”

Rainer strutted towards the water. She was sure to try to get into the deepest part. The current didn’t threaten her due to her size and bulk, she was a rather large wolf after all. She got deep enough to where the water reached her neck. The current was strong, she could feel it pulling her fur. But, she waited. For what seemed like minutes, watching the water intently. Until she saw what she was looking for. She relaxed her body, letting the current give her a but if a head start as she swam towards something, kicking her powerful legs. All her companions could see of her would be her nose, before she seemingly went under. She saw what she was after, a bass. Maybe 15 pounds. A big one. She kept her legs tucked at that point, being a little more easily pulled on by the water. She opened her jaws wide, and managed to grab the tail of the bass. The bass did what most fish do, it flailed and struggled. But she had a good grip in it’s tail. She allowed herself to drift down more, but she started to lower her hind legs. She was looking for a foot fall, like a rock or branch. And she eventually felt her paw, not her body catch on a rock. She dug her paws into it, the natural webbing of her paws helped a little in this endeavor. She tensed her muscles again, now holding onto the bass by the tail and being pulled. The bass again flailed, hitting her in the face as it whipped around. But it wasn’t a deterrent; this wasn’t the first time she had fished, and it wouldn’t be the last. She slowly, step by step, adjusted herself, slowly climbing the rock.
….
She seemed to stay under for a minute, two. It was getting slightly concerning. Until she seemed to breach the surface, the surface tension of the water breaking as a loud splash could be heard. She was around y feet away from the other two at this point, but there was a fish in her jaws. A sizable one. Looked to be a bass. She was standing still, as she had reached the top of the rock. While it didn’t stick out of the water all the way, it allowed Rainer to stand comfortable with the water around her shoulders, her head fully above the water. She let out a loud exhale though her nose, water exiting as well. She seemed to take a couple of breaths through her nose, the bass occasionally flailing, as it’s head was still underwater, it’s gills still received water. She eyed the closest route to the shore. She could see a small shoreline a few feet from where she was. She slowly paced herself to leave the rock. She pushed off the rock. She swam towards the small shoreline, her focus on swimming, and most importantly not loosing this fish. It would still put up a fight, flopping around. As she swam she almost lost it as it flailed, almost, as the part she gripped slipped out of one canine tooth. But she held her grip, and managed to hold onto the rest of it. Bass were always strong fighters, but that made them better meals.

She could finally feel her paws touch the River shore. Finally, she thought. She got out fully, holding the bass a tad awkwardly, but still in her jaws. She made sure to get father away from the waters edge, as fish would love to flop their way back in if they could. She dropped the bass on the ground and started to pant. She’s successfully gotten it. She watched it flail even more, water no longer entering its gills. She raised a paw and pinned it to the ground to keep it still. She was almost 8 full feet away from the other two. But it was worth it. She waited to see what the other two would do.

Soli watched proudly as his packmates joined him in the river, on the hunt for their own meal. He gave a warm smile to acknowledge Akka’s compliment, his small catch still struggling out the corner of his mouth. The young tan wolf was the first to join Sol in the river, their muzzle snapping into the flowing river with a flash; they raised their head with a twig clenched firmly in their jaw. The old wolf grinned, letting out a hearty chuckle. With an agility that was at odds with his age, he flipped his own small catch into the air, catching and eating it with a single bite. It was by no means an actual meal, but still food nonetheless. “You’ll get the next one, don’tcha worry.” He said encouragingly as he faced Akka.

The peaceful moment was interrupted by a rather loud and forced laugh from Rainer, followed by an unsavory remark on the duo’s fishing skills. Soli looked over to see the comment had gotten to Akka, their posture somehow deflating even further. I’m definitely going to have to babysit these two, Soli thought with a sigh. The characters of the two wolves were so at odds with each other- it was a miracle they had stuck together for the trip.

Choosing to ignore Rainer’s comment, he looked over to Akka with a smile, giving a reassuring wink to the young wolf. He looked back just in time to watch Rainer pull their catch from the river- a rather large bass. “Bravo!” Soli called out, “Wouldn’t mind catching this old wolf one, wouldya?”

Akka's brilliant plan of simply not making eye contact, therefore not being seen quickly fell through as his ears caught the sound of his packmate's laughter. Despite his leader's encouraging words, Rainer's taunting struck him like a piece of hail. He opened his mouth to retort, the fur on the back of his neck bristling but quickly lying down as the black and silver wolf made her way into the river to join them, quickly passing them both up. It was like he was invisible to her, but then again he might as well be, with how easy she made it look to catch a fish. Every move she made was calculated, it was clear that she had done this many times. He watched as she went under the water, his head leaning in and ears perking forward as she seemed to be submerged forever, then jerking back as she popped up. His green gaze followed as she made her way to the shore with her trophy in tow. He blinked as she looked back at the two of them, quickly looking away once more. Perhaps it was time he started acting as a member of a pack, he was honestly lucky that a wolf as self reliant as Rainer or wise as Soli had stuck around this long.

"Wouldn’t mind catching this old wolf one, wouldya?”

He untucked his tail and perked his ears up, "I uh... I can grab you one Soli..." He proclaimed as he once again faced the water. He had just gotten a free lesson from Rainer who was without a doubt going to enjoy her fresh catch, maybe he could grab one even bigger, for him and Soli to share. Oh that would be impossible but... he would have to try, this was his life now, he had to provide for himself as well as others.

He made his way deeper into the river, his red fur flowing like flames in the current, his giant paws keeping him steady until the water was just below his chin. His eyes searched into the depths, moving back and forth as he tried to focus and see what lied beneath, when suddenly, he felt something graze his leg. That felt like a big one, he thought to himself as he spotted the shadowy outline of the creature making it's way by, oh no you don't! He took a deep breath and darted underneath as he had observed earlier, quickly spotting the swimming motions of his prey and swimming after it, his large paws kicking up dirt as they occasionally touched the ground, leaving clouds on the surface of the water. His head popped up through the water briefly as he took another breath and dove once more, pushing himself off of a rock and right into the prey's path, snapping wildly until he finally snagged onto it's tail. He popped his head out of the water and looked around a bit dazed before starting to make his way to shore towards his packmates.

He had done it, he had caught his own prey, and it sure was a lot wigglier than he imagined. And scalier. And... bitier? If his fur wasn't plastered to his skin it would have stood on end as Akka realized that angrily swinging from his jaws and snapping at his nose was a water moccasin! "AAARGHH!" He wailed out as he released the snake,  frantically making his way to shallow water, but the creature, agitated, blooding oozing from it's tail and making a small trail in the river slithered just beneath his belly, making jabs that were just barely missing his underbelly, his soaked fur providing a shield from the attacks. As he yipped and made his way to the shore the cottonmouth stayed hot on his heals until he whipped around, baring his fangs and growling at the vile creature which hissed back in return. There they stood in attack mode, Akka's tail was once again between his legs, but he barked at the creature defensively, occasionally pawing at it as it made it's way more onto the shore, was his lunch about to be his undoing?!

Re: Cascade Falls

Rainer was getting ready to chow down on her fish before she heard the older wolf’s voice. "Wouldn’t mind catching this old wolf one, wouldya?”

Rainer looked up to reply, before noticing the red wolf heading into the water. He said he’d get one.

Was he trying to mimic her? Trying to do what took her years to master in only a few minutes? This she had to see. She stood and watched him. Watched him be steady. Hmm. He was swimming after whatever it was he saw. A fish? Another twig? How could she know? Then it looked like he caught something. She cocked an eyebrow. But as he emerged, her eyes widened in more shock. She could see what he had in his jaws was flailing.
She saw him scream. And run.
She could hardly stifle a chuckle, mostly it if how…bizarre it was. “What a fool.” She muttered to herself. She got up and dashed over towards him, moving somewhat urgently, as urgently a wolf her size could run. She’d dealt with these kinds of things before. The moccasin was closing in on him. He looked like he was backed against a wall. She got closer and closer.

The snake had gotten incredibly close to the red wolf at this point. Rainer took careful paw steps. Her experience with snakes taught her they react to movement more than anything. And it keeping its attention on her “companion” was more ideal. She wasn’t the best at being stealthy, more just careful. She got into careful position, her muscles locked. She was waiting to lunge at it at the right second. A second too late, and her inexperienced packmate would possibly die a long and painful death. The water moccasin looked as if it was going to rear back and strike him. As it’s head went back, Rainer lunged forwards. She was lucky to be as accurate as she was today. Her jaws slammed right below its head. It flailed and tried to bite, but the way she was holding it didn’t allow it to. It’s head was in a lock. She would get close to Akka as she stopped due to momentum, stopping right in front of him. She stood still. As she held it in her jaws, she then glared daggers at Akka, her gaze almost as fierce as any snake bite he could’ve gotten, with potential venom oozing from it. Her tail was raised. Her utter disappointment for him on clear display.

The snake continued to flail, until she contracted her jaw muscles. A crunch could be heard. The snake went limp. She still held direct eye contact with him as she held the former living water moccasin, before she let it limply drop from her jaws.

“Leave the fishing to the professional.” She said with a harsh growl to her voice.

She walked back over to her fish and picked it up. She returned to Akka and dropped it before him. She spoke as she turned around, she was beginning to head back towards the water, but stopped. She only looked over her shoulder to address him, tail still raised.

“Or if your little heart isn’t content with that, Maybe watch a bit more before you do something impulsive again. I shouldn’t give you my fish, but it’s clear you couldn’t catch one now even if you tried. You don’t know what to look for. Don’t make this a waste. Eat.”

She scoffed at him and she continued walking.

Rainer then looked back at Soli. “Now that that’s over, I was going to say if I felt like it. If I do feel like it, it’s gonna have to wait.” She headed back towards the water’s edge. She was feeling slightly fatigued, it took using energy to fish. Then fixing the blunder by Red over there. Ugh. She waited by the water’s edge for the lactic acid buildup in her muscles to disperse, before she’d try anything again, panting slightly.

She wasn’t sure if she was really better off with a pack or not at this rate.

“Ha! You got this, pup,” Soli said encouragingly to Akka. The dark wolf sat on the riverside, his tail neatly covering his paws as he watched the tawny wolf have another go at fishing. They needed a lot of practice- but their relative inexperience was just a sign of their youth. Another year or two, and both skill and confidence would grow. It was a happy thought for the old wolf.

His ears flicked. His eyes focused. Getting up, Soli felt something was wrong; a mere moment later, Akka let out a terrified wail. Instead of catching a fish, the young wolf had managed to anger a snake. “Akka!” Soli called out in worry, rushing over to the wolf. In the old wolf’s rush, his bad hind leg gave out, causing him to stumble on the slippery rocks. Luckily, in the moment Sol got to his paws, Rainer had rushed in. The snake was dealt with as he covered the last few paces. The black wolf dropped the snake at Akka’s paws, telling him rather rudely to drop the idea of fishing. “Are you ok, Akka?” Soli asked, his voice calm and comforting after the relative chaos.

The old wolf’s ears flicked as Rainer spoke to him. He let out a disappointed sigh, turning to look at the other black wolf as she walked away. “I understand if you’re more comfortable alone, Rainer. Not every wolf needs a pack.” He said simply. Nothing of Soli’s posture or tone was accusing or angry, just disappointed. While Rainer had saved Akka, and thus showed concern for their packmate, they still had to learn that every pack member deserved respect.

Soli’s stomach rumbled, but he ignored it- he’d gone longer without food. Turning back towards the still visibility shaken Akka, he nodded his head towards the shore. “Should get some food in ya, youngster. Got plenty o’ plants to poke at later,” Sol said, hoping to get the tawny wolf’s mind off of things.

Akka continued to bark at the snake, continuing to back up as the wretched thing came closer and closer until Rainer burst into the scene and put it on it's place. His muscles relaxed as she clamped her jaws and the little devil went limp in her hold, but his relief was quickly broken at his packmate's sharp words.

"Leave the fishing to the professional.”

"But I-" He was quickly cut off as his frustrated packmate dropped her catch in front of him and then padded away. His tail flopped downward and he looked over to Soli who encouraged him to eat. Not wanting to cause anymore trouble he bent down and took a bite, closing his eyes and quickly getting lost in the taste of the fresh catch. His eyes drifted over to Rainer as she lay alone, exhausted and annoyed. Soli's words rang in his mind, it was clear that they needed her a lot more than she needed them. He nosed the rest of the fish towards Soli, "Thanks for checking on me Soli... and... thanks for sticking around.” if it weren't for the old wolf's kind words he would have given up a long time ago.

He looked around and his mind started to wander back to his old, easier life. A small breeze went by and gently ruffled his fur, his nose twitching as a familiar scent wafted into his nostrils. He padded away from the river and into a more grassy area where he spotted the white petals swishing in the breeze. Daisies! He quickly plucked a few and ate them up, despite his failure his muscles were sore from his battle in the river. He gathered as much of the plant as he could before returning to the others.

"If you eat these they should help out with your leg.” He said gently as he set his bundle down and then nosed half of it to Soli. Once again he looked to Rainer, the black wolf looking just as hungry yet having nothing to eat. He took a couple of sniffs at the now dead water moccasin and perked his ears as he examined the fangs and noticed no venom to speak of. He shifted his paws in thought before taking a deep breath and picking it up, gingerly padding up to Rainer with his ears flat and then nosing the snake to her. "Thank you for saving me back there... I know it's not much but, you also need to eat something... and uh... these should help with your exhaustion.” He returned with the remaining bit of daisy and then bounded away in case the spicy wolf raked his side for suggesting eating flowers, even if she left them she would need her strength and that would help her along the way. Often times he couldn't hunt much of anything else, so he had familiarized himself with plants and their various effects.

He returned to Soli and sat next to the old wolf, a sudden yawn escaping his jaws and a few small tears sparkling as he blinked them. The sun was going down, and soon it would be time for them to rest.

Rainer scoffed at Soli. “Without me you’d both likely be dead at this point, especially if that little stunt was anything to go by. You should be grateful I’m here, both of you.. Lest you’d be bones in the woods.” Her words were harsh. Rainer sat at the water’s edge, she was mostly taking a quick rest. She could hear the other two talking, but paid them no mind really. She was disinterested in anything they had to say, mostly frustrated  and disgruntled. She was lost in her thoughts before she heard the passing of a certain wolf. She looked back, her eyes full of distain towards the red wolf trotting over to her. Now what? She thought to herself. She listened to him as he nudged the snake to her. “Would it not make sense to feed the elders first? Have you even lived in a pack before? I don’t want it. Give it to Soli. As for the flowers, I’ve survived plenty long without them. Maybe you should eat them and see if it remedies your impulsiveness.” She said as she got up. She simply tosses the snake over to Soli, before she walked a ways away from the two and laid down. She huffed as she did, before she also laid down. But she was yet to sleep, as she knew keeping guard for a little while to watch for predators or rivals was vital. Her amber eyes kept watch, especially around the tree line.

The old wolf watched somberly as Rainer padded away from the pair, her words full of malice. He sighed; they were so close to their new home along the river, yet so far from being a true pack. His thoughts were interrupted as Akka pushed half of the fish towards him, his stomach seemingly rumbling in approval. Sol’s attention was more drawn to the young wolf’s word of thanks, his sorrowful mood softening at Akka’s kind words. With a heartfelt smile to acknowledge Akka as the tawny wolf walked away, Sol started to eat.

Just as he finished, Akka had returned, dropping a bundle of pleasant white flowers at his paws. “Daisies, very smart, youngster," he said with a smile, leaning over and gnawing at them. “Never could get past the taste, though,” Soli remarked  between chews, his face scrunching up slightly in exaggerated distaste. Finding a comfortable spot, he laid down for the evening, watching as Akka proceeded to take the rest over to Rainer. He felt proud of Akka; despite the harsh words spoken by their packmate, the young wolf still cared for her. Both cared for each other in their own ways. His ears perked to listen to the pair’s exchange, with it going about as well as Sol expected.

Solivan watched as the snake was tossed at him. “A-ha, more food! You know how to make an older wolf happy,” Sol laughed with a cheery smile, “Thank you, Rain.” Despite being mostly full, he ate the little meat that the snake provided as Akka returned, looking slightly more defeated from the exchange. “It shows great strength to care for others who do not want to be cared for” Soli stated reassuringly as the Tawny wolf sat down next to him. He was confident that, in time, the pack would get along. He waited a decent length of time, allowing for the general mood to calm down, before speaking up himself.

“Rest well; tomorrow, we’ll arrive at our new home,” he said, his voice unwavering and calm. Normally he would volunteer to take first watch, but Sol knew Rainer would want that- she was already doing so. "I take it you'll be keeping an eye on things while we sleep first, eh?" Soli remarked cheerily, "give me a gentle poke when its my turn."

With a yawn, the old wolf settled in, watching the stars fade into view above.

Akka flinched as Rainer snapped at him, his ears laying flat against his head. He opened his mouth to say something before pulling back and shaking his head, walking away. No use in arguing. He took the daises and ate them up, no sense in letting them go to waste. He trotted over to Soli, sitting next to the old wolf.

“It shows great strength to care for others who do not want to be cared for”

He let out a sigh and nodded, laying down and resting his head on his paws, doubts and embarrassment floating around his head before sleep finally caught up to him. As he dreamed he saw himself running about the forest for the first time, taking in the scents. The taste of his first rabbit. He wouldn't give this up, and he couldn't let his pack down.

As the night went on Akka began to stir in his sleep before opening his eyes and letting out a groggy, fangy yawn. He looked over and saw Soli sleeping like a pup in the summer sun, he wouldn't dare wake the tired elder up. Rising to his paws, he shook his fur and looked over to Rainer, freezing as he remembered their previous interaction. Well, here goes...

He took a deep breath as he walked over to Rainer and silently sat next to her.  "I can take over while you and Soli rest." he closed his eyes as he waited for some kind of sharp retort, before opening them and flatting his ears, looking about over their surroundings. Perhaps he could use the time to think...
